The full practice edition
BackendDrills full edition — 1008 scenarios for $28
BackendDrills is decision-based practice for backend developers who know the basics and want to explain production problems clearly. The full edition is $28 USD, paid once, with no recurring subscription.
What you receive
- Three decisions per scenario: diagnosis, containment and prevention, with explanations and debriefs.
- Weighted topics include system design, software patterns, testing, SQL, APIs, concurrency, messaging, cybersecurity and cloud, with Java 8 and Java 21 feature sections and smaller web/client and AI tracks.
- A printable practice companion with frameworks, worksheets, recovery checks and role-based study paths. Complete scenario answers remain in the signed-in library.
- A 14-session core and separate Java, engineer, lead and architect paths, with browser-local progress and notes.
1008 exercises across 18 weighted topics: core engineering, system design, software patterns, cybersecurity, cloud, Java 8, Java 21 and focused AI integrations. Related exercises revisit mechanisms through incident investigation, implementation review, recovery and architecture decisions. Questions and acceptance gates differ by decision lens. These are realistic educational simulations, not actual customer incident reports.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. The connection-pool, transaction-proxy and Kafka replay drills are complete and free without an account or card. Public debugging guides are also free.
How does paid access work?
Sign in, review the purchase terms and open Stripe Checkout from the account page. Access is unlocked only after payment is verified. Use the same account on your devices; learning progress stays in each browser. If paid access is missing, use Recover purchase and contact support if needed.
Is it an AI tutor or coding environment?
No. You select responses to supplied evidence and review authored explanations. The product includes AI incident topics but does not run code or grade your notes with AI.
What about refunds or future editions?
Read the purchase and refund terms before buying. Refund requests are reviewed according to the circumstances and applicable law. Future editions, ongoing additions and perpetual availability are not promised.
