About BackendDrills and our editorial approach

BackendDrills is an educational backend engineering practice product operated under the SlickNext trade name. Contact support@slicknext.com for purchase, access or content questions.

What the product does

Read supplied incident evidence, choose a response at three stages, then compare the reasoning and explain your decision in your own words. There are 1008 scenarios and 3024 decisions across 18 topics. Three complete drills are free without an account; the full edition costs $28 USD as a one-time purchase.

How the content is prepared

Examples are original educational simulations based on documented platform behavior. AI assistance is used in drafting and organizing material. Public guides link to primary documentation, identify important version assumptions and distinguish an illustrative measurement from an actual customer incident. We do not claim the exercises are reports of real customer outages or questions from a named employer.

The library includes 1008 exercises across 18 weighted topics: core engineering, system design, software patterns, cybersecurity, cloud, Java 8, Java 21 and focused AI integrations. Related exercises revisit mechanisms through incident investigation, implementation review, recovery and architecture decisions. Questions and acceptance gates differ by decision lens. The library is educational practice, not a collection of 1008 unrelated customer incident reports.

Checks and corrections

Build checks verify scenario quantities, decision structure, stable free drills and separation of paid answers from public assets. Automated checks cannot establish the accuracy of every technical statement. Use the linked documentation for the relevant version, and report an issue with its page or scenario ID and the behavior you believe is incorrect. Public guide publication and review dates are shown on each article.

Scope and ownership

BackendDrills does not execute Java code, automatically grade free-form notes with AI, provide certification or guarantee an interview or job outcome. Technology names belong to their respective owners; no endorsement is implied. Purchase terms explain access and refund requests, and Privacy explains providers and browser-local progress.
